Spears Beckham is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, consultant, educator, and advocate with over 19 years of experience serving individuals, families, and schools with quality special needs services. Spears earned her first Master’s degree in Counseling from The University of South Carolina in 1995 and worked in the Columbia area. Spears first discovered her passion for working with children with Autism when hired as an ABA Therapist in 1997 inspiring her to earn her second Master’s degree in Special Education from The College of Charleston in 1999. From 1997-2006, she taught students with learning and emotional disabilities in the self-contained and inclusion settings focusing on behavior and dyslexia. and she then became an Autism and Instructional Specialist for the Charleston County School District (CCSD) providing school consultation, ABA programming supervision, and workshop training for staff and parents for ages 3-21. In 2007 she became a Special Education Administrator for Charleston County Schools and, for the next 5 years, supervised and coordinated the Autism and ABA programs for the district’s 84-schools county-wide. In 2012 Spears left public education in order to start a company that provides behavior programming, training, education consulting, and behavior interventions to individuals, families, and schools throughout South Carolina. Spears lives with her husband, daughter, two cats, one dog, and a fish named Bruce in Florence, SC.
